Wild Hare R/C is proud to announce the availability of a new aerobatic airplane. We have revised the popular Extra 300 into a new Extra 260 and added Fast-Build features as well!

In recognition of the fact that new 50cc class engines are more powerful than a few years ago, we changed the very popular Extra 300 into a 260. This well tested airframe was improved by expanding the wingspan to 87" and shortening the canopy. Perfect for a TOC-53 or any 50-60cc gas engine. You will immediately notice the increased agility from the light weight and huge control surfaces. 3d performance is excellent, redesigned tail group reduces/eliminates wing rock in high alpha maneuvers. This new plane has a wide fuse and cowl, smaller 1 place tinted canopy, a roomier “ring mount” cowl with more scale appearance with no visible fasteners, polished gear, landing gear cuffs, and it has a longer integrated canister muffler tunnel. The Extra is available in white/red/blue and red/yellow/black as shown.

And since we are recognizing modern realities, let's also consider that most people don't have much time to build a plane and would rather be out flying. So we have done as many of the time consuming tasks as possible. The wings and stabs are pre-hinged, the canopy is pre-mounted to the hatch and completely trimmed, the hatch mounts are completed, the firewall is pre-marked for the location of the engine and templates for popular engines are available. The rudder is half hinged, gluing the other half of the hinges into the vertical stab is the only require gluing.

The new Extra 260 continues in the tradition of Wild Hare aerobats, it's light yet rugged and flies great. The pane has no bad habits and excels at either 3D flying or IMAC style aresti maneuvers. Slow flight is excellent landing is a non-event and the control surfaces are large and powerful.

This plane requires good quality metal gear servos at least 120 in. oz. and will benefit from better quality and higher torque servos. Digital servos are strongly recommended. One good quality servo is required for each control surface for a total of 5, plus throttle and optional choke servo. The Extra 260 is constructed of balsa, lite ply and selected hardwoods, covered in Ultracote/Oracover. Polished aluminum landing gear, tinted canopy, fiberglass wheel pants and cowling, Single-wire style tailwheel and miscellaneous fasteners included. Wings and horizontal stabs mount on aluminum tube spars and are easily removed for transportation or storage. Large pin style hinges are pre-installed. Mounts for gas tank, servos, radio, etc already installed. Wood parts are assembled with CA, white glue or epoxy. A hardware kit is available to complete the plane, which is made up of selected American made parts including quality wheels and axles, control horns, pushrods, pull-pull kit, complete fuel system , and many extra small parts to make building the plane easier. All of the fasteners included with the kit are US size (not metric).
