Radios -- I have completely switched over to using the Hitec Aurora 9 2.4 ghz. AFHSS radio system. This new radio has all the bells and whistles at a super competitive price. It is much easier to set up than other radios due to its touch-screen menuing system which totally eliminates buttons.

The radio is so good that it has been hard to get and impossible to keep in stock, so if you want one you may have to wait a while, but it's worth the wait. We have the 7 channel units (9 channel transmitter with 7 chennel receiver) priced at $409.95 and the 9 channel versions at $439.95.

The one thing that JR/Spektrum has that is unique is the AR-9100 power-safe receiver which is $219.95. This is a nifty device which is designed for giant planes that use large amounts of power. Hitec does not have a receiver like this, but Wild Hare is going one better. We will sell the Smart-Fly Power-Expander Pro with a 9 channel Hitec receiver for $219.95, the same price as the AR-9100. The PE-pro/Optima 9 combination is far superior to the AR-9100, it will give you all the same features plus multiple buffered servo connections for each channel. It's much easier to work with and still has the fail-safe integrated switch capability. This is the most reliable setup you can get.

Ready To Fly planes for sale -- We have two planes available for sale, ready to fly (minus radio unless you really want that too).

I have a very nice prototype of a Decathlon, 96" wing span. This plane was built as a test for the design and it is a super nice airplane. THe problem is that after it was built the builder in China disappeared, so I can not order more of them or get parts for it.

It's equipped with a Brison 2.4 (40cc) in excellent condition. It has an assortment of servos, an A123 battery pack with smart-fly super switch, and is currently set up with a Spektrum AR-7000 receive.

I also have a new 88" MX2 in the red/black scheme. This plane has not yet been flown, it was built for photographs. It has HD 9150s on elevators, HD 1501's on ailerons and a JR 8711 on teh rudder. It has a new DLE-55 that has been test run for a few minutes. It's equipped with a single 2300 mah A123 battery and a heavy duty custom rocker switch setup. This is a really pretty airplane done with a graphics set similar to the Honda style. New price is $1,400.00 not including the receiver. If you can give me your radio I will be happy to install your receiver and do a basic setup so it will be RTF when you pick it up.

If this particular plane is not exactly what you want, I will do assembly on any of our 50cc planes for $100, schedule permitting, and I will equip it any way you want with components that you buy from Wild Hare. Just pay regular retail for all the equipment and I can't ship an assembled plane, this offer is for local pickup only.

A123 battery starter kit, 50cc and 100cc/larger

For 50cc size planes we have a nice kit to get you started with the A123 battery technology. The kit includes 1 2300mah battery pack (sufficient to properly power any R/C aircraft, really), a new multi-charger that does A123s plus just about any other type of battery, charge cord(s) to connect to the battery pack and one Smart Fly super switch. Price reduced to $130.

Additional battery packs are $40 and the Super Switch alone is $30.

For 100cc size and larger planes we recommend using 2 2300mah A123 packs and a Smart Fly Power Expander Pro. The PE Pro has an integrated fail-safe switch eliminating the need to have external switches. This saves money and eliminates a lot of wiring that can potentially cause problems. While the PE is not an absolutely necessity, it lasts pretty much forever and solves a lot of problems, so it's an excellent investment.

This combination is $235 (price deduced), and for $50 more (with the combo only) we will include our great little multi-charger so you can charge those A123s. A great way to get started with the A123s and power your larger plane. Wiring for the fail-safe switch is included.
